The IBBME Teaching Laboratory is a 3,000 square foot space that houses state-of-the-art technologies for multidisciplinary engineering education.
Its main space and the adjacent Cell & Tissue Culture Room has a capacity for 60 students and instructors combined.

In addition to facilitating the practical components of more than 10 biomedical engineering courses, the IBBME Teaching Lab also hosts classes for the Departments of Chemical Engineering & Applied Chemistry (ChemE), Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE), Mechanical & Industrial Engineering (MIE) as well as the Division of Engineering Science in collaboration with the U of T Institute of Aerospace Studies (UTIAS).
A number of the laboratory’s instruments are acquired with the support of the Engineering Society’s Student Levy Fund.
